Ahmet
Yeşil, “Sesler ve İzler” serisinden son dönem çalışmalarının yer aldığı
eserleriyle 3-26 Nisan 2019 tarihleri arasında New York Gallery Max SoHo’da
izleyicilerle buluşuyor.
Ahmet
Yeşil, “Sesler ve İzler” serisiyle ilgili kaleme aldığı yazısında şunları
aktarıyor: “Yaratmanın yaşama karşı başkaldırı olduğu inancıyla, yaşanılan
gerçekten kendi gerçeğimi yaratarak çoğalmaya çalışıyorum, sonsuzluğun içinde
bilinmeyen boşluklara yaşam izlerimi bırakarak.
Yaratma, cesaret gerektiren bir eylemdir. Rollo May’e
ortaya koyduğu imgelem her bakanın gözünde yeniden yaratılarak çoğalmaktadır.
Yaratıda ortaya konan “söz”ün bıraktığı her iz izleyiciyle birlikte çoğalarak
yaşamda var olmanın göstergesi olmaktadır.
Malzemenin
imkânlarıyla sürdürülen, gerilim, sanatçının verimini doğrudan etkiler. Gerilim
yerini uzlaşmaya bıraktıkça, sanatçının diliyle hayat arasındaki sürtüşme
ortadan kalkar, söz barışın işgaline uğrar, söz tükenir, kalan izler bizi her

Yesil’s “Voices and Traces” will be displayed April 3rd - 26th, 2019 at Gallery
Max Soho.
Ahmet
Yeşil writes about his “VOICES AND TRACES” series: “With the belief of it that
creating is a rebellion against life, leaving my life traces into unknown
spaces within infinity, I try to augment by creating my own reality out of the
experienced reality.
Creation
is a courage requiring act. According to Rollo May, in order for creation
action to happen, there has to be an intense encounter. An artist’s questions
regarding life are her/his encounters.
The
artist who finds herself/himself in creation process following the encounter
moment, performs the answers questions with -poetic, audial, plastic, dramatic-
his/her own language.
The
imagery which has been created by the artist with her/his own language
multiplies within every single audience’ eye.
Every
trace being left by “the word/ saying” performed in creation by multiplying,
becomes the indicator of existence/presence in life.
Tension
which is sustained by means of the material resources affects the productivity
of artist. While the tension leaves its place to the reconcilation, the
infighting dissappears between language of artist and life and then word gets
exhausted and occupied by peace, remained prints compose the rings among the
life layers in every era as the guide for following the voice marks in an
endless action.
Artist
heads for new ways equally the viewer does. Tampering with the art work is risk
taking. When the artist’s work process is over, by all senses and accumulations
the voice appears and asks unexpected questions to the artist. This is a cliff
edge effect to the consiousness. In reality, the marks of language which is
left by the vocal waves of consiousness carries away him along with the viewer
into this adventure.
These
marks are the voice waves of art work that could not heard sometimes and that
could be heard when we begin to ask. In
reality the call of art work is the images affect us by establishing a
communication. The reality, we named as marks, is an image sensation which can
be obtained through viewer’s own truth.

AHMET YEŞİL
Ahmet
Yesil has been actively working as an artist since 1979. He has been featured
in 117 solo exhibitions, participated in 297 mixed and contest exhibitions, and
received 24 awards.
Even
though he follows closely the art movements in the world and in Turkey, he
clings to his own reality, developing his art as his brush portrays his
longings, passions, excitement, emotions, ideas, pain and joy on the canvas.
What needs to be emphasized is that he created an idiosyncratic visual
language, which can only be defined as “Ahmet Yesil’s style”.
Like
many artists, his early period stands out with landscape paintings. During this
period, the artist mostly produced paintings that could be defined as
impressionistic.
His
second period can be defined as the figure period, during which he approached
women and children in a social and societal context.
His
third period (1990-1997) was the era when he really began to flourish as an
artist. The image of rope began to attain an important place in his paintings
and became an essential part of his compositions during this period.
In
his fourth period as an artist, ropes and strings started taking up all the
surface and content on the canvas. His recent works are detached from any
thematic narrative; fully minimalistic works created by plastic and artistic
power become semiotic and open pieces. The perfect harmony of rhythm, balance,
lyricism, lighting, shadow and bright colors in Yesil’s paintings enable
viewers from various cultures to immediately interact with the image.
That’s
why his unique paintings have been exhibiting every year since 2006 at the
Louvre Museum in Paris. In 2014, his work was exhibited at the same time across
the hall from each other as Andy Warhol Retrospective at the Ludwig Galerie
Schloss, in Oberhausen, Germany. His
paintings are included in many private/public collections and museums, like The
Royal Family Collection, The Palace of the United Kingdom and The Turkish
Presidential Parliament building. His work can be found across the globe in
countries such as Japan, China, Germany, France, USA, Canada, Netherlands, Mexico,
Azerbaijan, UK, and Turkey. Ahmet
Yesil’s “Voices and Traces” will be displayed April 3rd - 26th, 2019 at Gallery
Max Soho.
