Arzu Arslan’ın “Sonsuz Güneş – Sentez” isimli seramik sergisi Ankara’da Türk Amerikan Derneğinde 25 Nisan 2022 tarihine kadar izlenebilir. 2010 yılından bu yana seramik sanatıyla profesyonel olarak ilgilenen Arzu Arslan sergisiyle ilgili kaleme aldığı manifestosunda şu cümlelere yer veriyor: “ Bir çok uygarlığa ev sahipliği yapmış medeniyetler beşiği Anadolu, binlerce yıllık tarihiyle günümüz sanatına ve sanatçısına ilham vermeye devam ediyor. Anadolu’da binlerce yıldır devam eden çömlekçilik, evriliyor, klasik sanatlar modern sanatlara göz kırpıyor. Sentez, bu konseptin açığa çıkışı, evrilişi, aynı zamanda devrimleşmesi anlayışını da doğuruyor. Sentez, Klasik İznik seramiklerinin 21.yy dünya seramiklerine adaptasyon çabasıdır. Köklerimizden gelen birikimlerin, Anadolu kültür ve ritüelleriyle kaynaşması ve dünyaya entegre olma yolculuğunun ilk safhasıdır.

Bedenimi, gözlerimi, ruhumu ve güzel Türkçe'mizi veren kültürümün ve ülkemin bir parçasıyım. Biz biriz.
Hep
yukarı bakarız. İnsanlar yukarıya bakmak için doğmuşlardır. Sonsuz güneşin
sonsuz koşusunu yaptığı yere. Yıldızımız bizden çok önce vardı ve hepimiz
gittiğimizde de parlayacak.
Esnek kili ellerimde tutuyorum ve ondan ne yapacağımı düşünüyorum. Zarif bir vazo mu? Yoksa basit bir tabak mı? Önemli değil. Eserlerime ruhumun sıcaklığını ve ellerimin ustalığını koymak istiyorum. Yarattığım her nesneye göğsümde yanan küçük güneşimden bir parça koymak istiyorum. Üstümüzde parlayan yıldız gibi sonsuz bir güneş değilim. Ama çalışmalarım aracılığıyla ışık ve sıcaklık vermek istiyorum. Elimden geldiğince.”

Eternal sun – Synthesis Manifest by Arzu Arslan
Anatolia,
the cradle of civilizations that has hosted many civilizations, continues to
inspire today's art and artists with its thousands of years of history. Pottery,
which has been going on for thousands of years in Anatolia, is evolving,
classical arts winking at modern arts. The emergence of this concept in the
synthesis gives rise to the understanding of evolution as well as the
revolution. Synthesis is an effort to adapt Classical Iznik ceramics to the
world ceramics of the 21st century. It is the first stage of the journey of
merging the accumulations from our roots with Anatolian culture and rituals and
integrating with the world.
I
feel like part of my culture and part of my country, which gave me a language,
my body, my eyes and my soul. We are one. We always look up. People were born
to look up. Where’s eternal sun makes its endless run. Our star was long before
us and will shine when all of us are gone.
I
clutch the pliable clay in my hands and think about what I will make of it.
Elegant vase? Or a simple dish? It does not matter. I want to put the warmth of
my soul and the mastery of my hands to my works of art. I want to put a piece
of my little sun burning in my chest into every object that I create. I am not
such an endless sun as the star that shines above us. But I want to give light
and warmth through my works. For as long as I can. (Arzu Arslan).

ARZU ARSLAN KİMDİR?
Born in 14th of January 1975 in Ankara, Turkey. After graduated from Yukselis College in 1993, she studied Business Administration in Anatolia University – Eskisehir. She graduated in 1998 and started her finance career at Akbank this year. For 10 years she worked in various departments. She quited her finance career in 2008. Since 2010 she has been attending to State’s various art courses such as ceramics and Traditional Turkish Ceramic Art: Çini, also she has got private lessons from çini artists. She is participating in art auctions in Turkey in wellknown art galleries.
